By following these simple care steps, your cut gerber daisies will stay vibrant and fresh, bringing joy and color to your space for as long as possible!

1. Trim the Stems

• Before placing gerber daisies in water, cut about 1-2 inches off the stems at a 45-degree angle. This allows the flowers to absorb water more effectively. Make sure to use a sharp knife or scissors to avoid crushing the stem.

2. Remove Lower Leaves

• Remove any leaves that will be submerged in the water. This helps prevent bacterial growth, which can shorten the lifespan of the flowers.

3. Use Clean Water and a Clean Vase

• Fill your vase with clean, cool water and make sure the vase is free of any dirt or bacteria. Gerber daisies are sensitive to dirty water, so a clean vase ensures a longer life.

4. Add Flower Food

• If you have flower food, add it to the water to provide nutrients that will help your gerber daisies last longer. If you don’t have flower food, a teaspoon of sugar can also provide some nourishment.

5. Keep Them Cool

• Place your gerber daisies in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or drafts. They thrive in cooler temperatures and will last longer in these conditions.

6. Change Water Daily

• Gerber daisies drink a lot of water. Change the water in the vase daily to keep it clean and fresh. You may also want to recut the stems every two days to keep them hydrated.

7. Avoid Ethylene Gas

• Keep gerber daisies away from ripening fruits and vegetables, as they emit ethylene gas, which can speed up the wilting process of flowers.

8. Handle Gently
