Flower Care Lysimachia:
Lysimachia is a beautiful, long-lasting cut flower with flexible stems and small clustered blooms. With proper care, it stays fresh, vibrant, and upright for days.
1. Unpack & Prepare Immediately
- Remove any packaging as soon as you receive the stems.
- Strip off any leaves that would sit below the waterline to prevent bacteria growth.
- Trim the ends of each stem at a 45° angle using clean, sharp shears.
2. Hydrate Well
- Place stems in a clean vase filled with fresh, cool water.
- Add floral preservative if available—Lysimachia benefits from it and will hydrate more quickly.
- Allow the stems to drink for several hours before arranging.
3. Keep Water Clean
- Change the water every 1–2 days.
- Rinse the vase and add fresh water each time to reduce bacteria, which helps keep stems firm and blooms from wilting.
4. Keep Them in a Cool Spot
- Lysimachia lasts longest in cooler conditions.
- Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafty areas.
5. Keep Away From Ripening Fruit
- Fruits like bananas and apples release ethylene gas, which can shorten the life of delicate blooms.
- Store your vase away from the fruit bowl.
6. Handle Gently
- The stems are naturally flexible and can bend easily.
- Adjust arrangements carefully to avoid kinks or breakage.
7. Refresh if Needed
- If the flowers start to droop, recut the stems and place them back in fresh water.
- They often revive quickly.
