Flower Care Larkspur:
To keep your larkspur blooms looking fresh and beautiful, follow these simple care tips.
By following these care tips, your cut larkspur will stay fresh, vibrant, and beautiful, brightening up your space for longer!
1. Trim the Stems
- Before placing your cut larkspur in water, trim the stems at a 45-degree angle, about 1–2 inches from the bottom. This increases the surface area for water absorption, ensuring your flowers stay hydrated and last longer.
2. Use Clean, Fresh Water
- Fill a clean vase with fresh, lukewarm water. Change the water every day to prevent bacteria buildup, which can shorten the lifespan of your larkspur. Always make sure the water is clean and free from any impurities.
3. Remove Submerged Leaves
- To avoid bacteria growth, remove any leaves or foliage that will be submerged in the water. This keeps the water cleaner and helps extend the life of your flowers.
4. Place in a Cool Spot
- Keep your larkspur in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafts. Excessive heat or sunlight can cause the blooms to wilt and fade more quickly.
5. Keep your containers clean
- Wash the vase thoroughly each time you change the water. Bacteria can quickly accumulate in a dirty vase, affecting the freshness of your flowers.
6. Proper Vase Spacing
- Ensure that your larkspur has enough space in the vase for proper air circulation. Overcrowding can cause the stems to rub against each other, which can damage the flowers.
7. Remove Wilted Flowers
- Regularly check your larkspur for any wilting or damaged blooms and remove them promptly. This will help the rest of the bouquet stay fresh and prevent the spread of decay.
